Re: Battery Pack Charger Connection
So you do have a simple way of reducing the charger output . Thats good. SImply have a default of 10a on the charger and a push button to change it to 32 when you have access to a 32a . That way you can use it on a 13a supply as well.

Re: Battery Pack Charger Connection
So far I have only done conversions on older pre can bus cars. SO never been an issue. The charge outlets cannot control charge rate internally, all you will do if you put this on a 16a outlet is to blow its internal breaker. If you have the correct component values, it wont start, but if your value...

Re: Battery Pack Charger Connection
If you do a search as I suggested, you will come across all the details you need. But being able to operate at 6.6kw will mean you cant use a 16a outlet. The charger is a completely separate and unrelated device to the mains outlets . They just supply mains if they get the right feed back. If not th...

Re: Battery Pack Charger Connection
There is no can bus between a type 2 or type 1 charge outlet and the vehicle. Its simple resistance and PWM . If you search on j1772or the european 62196 standards you will see how they work. Its not can bus.

Its all down to the controler/ inverter you are using. Thats the start point. ALl different, and so you have to get that part resolved first.

Re: BVS possible closure
I already have some admin rights and have deleted some totally in appropriate posts recently. Happy to continue looking occasionally and doing whats needed. If it does close I would like to get a download of the Berlingo Electrique and Citroen C1 stuff, and I can then put them on my EV Support site ...

Re: Battery Pack Charger Connection
Dont forget the Charge outlet has all conductors of the same size. If pure three phase then there is no return path required, if you use all three phases to neutral, then the shared neutral will be taking the return for all three phases, and the cable is really only sized for the max of the charge o...

Re: Battery Pack Charger Connection
The point I was trying to make was that you dont appear to understand whats does what, unfortunately an awful lot of people think Charge points (evse) actually charge the car. They dont they just provide mains power to the vehicle. So when someone goes off using lots of abbreviations and asking ques...

Re: Battery Pack Charger Connection
In connection with a conversion having its own charger built in, what do you mean by an EVSE as opposed to an OBC.
You cant use Chademo / CCS unless you have a high voltage pack, presumably you dont have that.
