Re: Brake vacuum Pump Needed

Many recent turbo charged petrol cars (Vauxhall, VW, Audi to name a few) have electric vacuum pumps for the brake servo, if you have a local breakers yard you might find one.

Re: BVS possible closure

If it's possible to get a backup file of Board index > General chat > All things battery related > BMS thread
That would be very helpful, I have recently started working on my BMS project again and the historical data in that section is useful.

Re: Old BMS Software Thread

If you can send command 7 and the slaves light up as they should then you know the slave bus is OK. Even if you don't know how to read schematics or programming this project will he a good start. The source code is a version of basic. If you are considering arduino then you will be learning C progra...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread

I seem to recall the system may not work correctly with just one cell connected, but I could be wrong. You also may need to activate the charge routine in the master to test the slave loads. My own experience so far with lithium cells is they don't require daily balancing which is why my LTC6802 sla...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread

Those are the relevant diagrams posted by Martin. The 5 buttons shown in the top schematic is the joystick button which connects to the master J9 pins 1 and 6. Once you have the buttons working you can access the menus and set the cell number to 16 or whatever your value is. This value will be saved...

Re: 16 Cell Multi Slave Board

Anthony, Peter and I designed the master software for use in a electric vehicle. You will need carefully examine the code and make changes so it is suitable for your application as a battery bank for photovoltaic panels. In particular you need to find out what the manufacture of your cells recommend...

Re: 16 Cell Multi Slave Board

Here are some basic instructions. The slave bus has 2 wires and sends commands from the master to the slaves in a daisy chain fashion. So on the master you should have 2 terminals for the slave bus, these need to be connected to the 2 terminals on the slave bus in connector. If you have more slaves ...

Re: Direct lead battery replacement by LiFePO4

It will be because of the voltage ratings used on whatever bms circuitry is built into their 12v batteries. They probably have some ~60 volt rated components so that is what limits you to 4 (12 volt) batteries in series. Lithium cells must never be over or undercharged. Even one occurrence will prob...

Re: how to choose battery, its capacity

Basically you will need to know how much fuel you require for the race and what the duration of the race will be. The fuel is measured in watt/hours and ideally your pack will be sized for the amount of Wh or kWh you are going to use. The duration of the race will tell you what the average discharge...

Re: Flow Batteries: The future of high-capacity energy stora

What are people's thoughts on this development in regards to future electric vehicles? Hugely important as long as you don't waste time trying to fit the technology in a EV. Grid storage systems will allow widespread adoption of renewables, being able to store the energy when it is generated and us...
