Re: Failure to start
Suspect the pedal pot either gets out of calibration with the pedal i.e the pot doesnt zero, from memory you can adjust the zero position on the mounting bolts of the pot. Not really. Or the zero part of the pot has become warn and is noisey and needs either cleaning or replacing. ChrisB that's pos...

Re: do berlingos batts lose charge if left sat
I mean the water pumps, there are two of them which run when charging or driving. Fairly quiet.
If they are either not running, or you spot them running when the vehicle isn't being charged, this gives a clue as to the cause.

Re: Whats the highest mileage Berlingo/PSA car out there?
I retired my Berlingo at 86k miles, swapped the pack into a "new" one which I picked up with dead 1999 cells.
It was all just getting a bit worn out and battered, and the new one has almost no dents in it.

Re: Tyres
I had a number of weird tyre failure modes on the Peugeot 106 while it was still on nicad. One tyre's tread separated. One developed a big egg which leaked. Two more suddenly started "wobbling" drastically and got noticeably hot while driving (and robbed power). They were all Michelin Ener...

Re: berlingo E500 nicads
Interesting comment by you "Ni-Cads are very robust when they are working, where lithium needs constant baby-sitting." I'm not sure I agree with that - my 106 has been the most maintenance free car of any sort I've owned since taken into regular use with a lithium pack at the start of the...

Re: That other old one on eBay
I'm sure nobody's thinking about heaters in August but I've had a ceramic element on my berlingo for a few years, it draws 10A from the pack when used with the second fan setting and keeps the windows clear of mist. In really cold weather (like last winter) I still use the petrol heater. Thanks EVA...

Re: do berlingos batts lose charge if left sat
You haven't said if you run the van regularly and down below 50% fairly often. Not doing so can cause this. Also if you ever notice the pumps running when it's idle, that definitely causes it (regardless of how new the 12v battery is). If you're sure it's OK on those points then just do a balance ch...

Re: do berlingos batts lose charge if left sat
It sounds like the batteries are full but the dial thinks they aren't. Most likely cause: flat 12V battery causing the DC-DC converter to start. The computer is overly pessimistic and the dial moves down faster than it should. Result, the batteries reach full before the dial does. edit: just like th...
