Re: Public charging design guide

Tim, Thanks for this. It is interesting to see what the state of thinking was and seeing how it moves on. The TfL stuff is at: http://www.newride.org.uk/downloads/EVCP-Guidance-Apr10.pdf I am surprised that there is nothing from those funding the installation.... Lets see who else comes up with some...

Public charging design guide

I was wondering if anybody knew of a design guide to help get charging infrastructure built in the optimum way. It seems as though everybody is making it up as they go along and there are some basic do/don't lessons that would benefit from being written down. There have been attempts (there is a TfL...

Re: Specifying shorter range

Kevin, Tim & Greg, Thanks for your replies. I think the Tesla is out of my league... unless the lottery comes up this week. Interesting about the Twizzy: you can specify colour, but not doors! They really do seem to be too much of a toy. G-Wiz is in the same league I'd say, but without the manad...

(I am new to the Society) The thinking goes like this: I live on an island and I drive 8 mile...

Technology Strategy Board - EV research project

There has been a series of studies into how people use EVs and this has been brought together in a report called: The Initial Findings from the Ultra Low Carbon Vehicle Demonstrator Programme. It is interesting to note that basically people found EVs easy to drive, they adapted from petrol to electr...

Re: Newbie battery questions

Greg, Thanks for the posting. VERY helpful. I do appreciate your time on this. :) The car does have a Paktrakr so I will have a look at what that is saying over the weekend. Also I will be immersing myself in the joys of the Peukert effect for bed time reading. Any other contributions will also be g...

Newbie battery questions

Hi, I need to replace the 6 lead acid batteries in the Matiz conversion I bought and am feeling my way in here. A few questions are rattling round in my head and I'd be glad of some steers if possible. 1. Sealed v Low Maint Lead Acids. Is there much to choose in terms of performance/reliability etc?...
