Re: Charging points and Renault Zoey
You didn't listen. MOT's will cost the same as any car but there is less to fail on an EV. No MOT's on van's! Sorry, I was but I was just thkning out loud. My expirence is that you usually pay extra for services for technology that is out of the norm, as it were. Just my opinion, could be wrong. Th...

Re: Charging points and Renault Zoey
So MOTs may/may not be more expensive until you find someone which won't baulk at something new, I suppose that's a given, and theres at least 3 years grace period (buying from new). I know your an advocate of the leaf, but I like the Zoe for a number of reasons. First is that it doesn't seem as big...

Lorries and busses
I was just wondering, how feasible is it to have large vehicles becoming EV?
Am I right in thinking that a heavy lorry (carrying a full load) would be insanely expensive due to battery, and unviable charge time?

Re: Charging points and Renault Zoey
Shameless bump, any additonal info about the Zoe? I did email Renualt some time ago, and was told it was passed on but have received no response. Has anyone found out what insurance group it would be yet? I have managed to get my partner into it, so we are saving up but will not be able to afford it...

Re: Charging points and Renault Zoey
Humm, moving house isn't easy if you are on a tight budget! It's also a very nice house which is not far from work. As to costs, sorry I wasn't after a complete breakdown from anyone, was more for the benefit of trying to get everything and no hidden costs. Thank you for answering and asking about i...

Re: Charging points and Renault Zoey
Ok well let's talk tco. Sorry if this is in another thread... What insurance group is it? MOT - I guess a normal garage can't do it, where and how much would it cost? Likewise for a service? How much to charge from empty (not that it would get totally empty) on 13p a unit? Battery lease, the car fin...

Re: Charging points and Renault Zoey
Thanks we kind of wanted a newer more hasslefree car for that sort of money though. The range is just far too limiting as well. Our families are about that far away. We do have free access to ecotricity's charging points (as we both work for Ecotricity and get our power from them), but something wit...

Re: Charging points and Renault Zoey
Around 60. How much does it cost to charge the car, full charge? I know this depends on cost per unit, around 13p per unit I think. Thing is, we can only afford so much per month, and with the car on finance (could not afford it outright) so the extra for installing the charging station and battery ...

Re: Charging points and Renault Zoey
Hmm, thanks for that. Not impressed. The price initially looks fantastic, but when you factor in the battery lease its way beyond the normal public. Not to mention costs of the charging station. Not blaming renualt. Someone has finally produced a pretty normal looking hatchback for a seemingly doabl...

Charging points and Renault Zoey
Hi all, Here for some advice. First of all, the parking space at my house is down an allyway and in communal parking. Say about 20-30ft away from the house. How much would it cost me to get a charging point installed? (I would add that I am in the UK). Very rough estimate, are we talking 1000s here?...
