Re: Nickel Zinc on the Oxygen Cargo Scooter

Further to this: I contacted Oxygen to see if they could help. They replied promptly, but this is all they could say: Dear Sir, thank you for writing us. I hope your scooter can be recovered and used again, but my fear is that you are owning a Ni-Zn Cargoscooter, which is not convertible to any othe...

Re: Nickel Zinc on the Oxygen Cargo Scooter

Could well be for cordless drills! The original batteries were 64 Ah and were colossal beasts. The current ones are 40 Ah and are far better from a practical point of view. The bike actually handles OK, while it floundered around with the original batteries. I don't need a colossal range. Ten miles ...

Re: Nickel Zinc on the Oxygen Cargo Scooter

My Cargo is 48 volts, and I need to do something as it's currently unusable. The nickel zincs can't be replaced, and lead acids are a lower voltage and I'm told would be cooked by the charger. I love the idea of lithium iron but they're still horrifically expensive compared to other types. There are...

Re: OXYGEN ELECTRIC BIKE

Bike now sitting in the garage as the batteries have given out. I doubt anything can be done to resurrect them as they just lose charge very quickly. I can get only half a mile down the road before the bike cuts out. So... what recommendations can people make for replacement batteries, and will I al...

Re: West Sussex gets 20 charge points

One thing I can't see you've mentioned: I visited the Brooklands points and didn't realise till I got there that you needed to pay £50 a year for the privilege of free electricity! My modest requirements, plus the parking charge, would make that unrealistic. However, I realise it would be viable for...

Re: West Sussex gets 20 charge points

Ah yes, right near the speed camera, which is something I don't need to fear on my mean machine. Out of interest, why was that particular location (Brooklands, not the toilet block!) selected? Are there a lot of drivers of electric vehicles who stop by for a go on the swings and a trip round ...

Re: West Sussex gets 20 charge points

Wow! Just a mile down the road from me! It says Brooklands, but the map shows it to be further down the main seafront road, possibly at the BP garage. Can you confirm, seeing you've actually been there? I wonder if I can get a bike into the multi-storey without paying. It's an NCP job and the price ...

Re: West Sussex gets 20 charge points

Good news, as I'm in Lancing, near Worthing. However, I can't see any sign of the Worthing point on the website.

Is it actually live yet, and where is it?

Re: OXYGEN ELECTRIC BIKE

All working beautifully now. Many thanks for the help. The front suspension is better than it's ever been since I got the bike nearly three years ago, so I suspect the fork was almost dry even then. I have acquired a Lepton service manual in PDF format from someone in Alaska. The Lepton is similar t...

Re: OXYGEN ELECTRIC BIKE

Aha, great. I've located the right weight oil (the first few shops didn't have it) and have ordered some seals, so we'll be in business soon. I didn't realise you needed so little oil - scarcely more than a shot of whisky! It'll be great to get the bike back on the road again, especially if the weat...
