Re: 25 Cell Multi Slave Board

Hey, Peter, the two hardware links don't work. They contain only the directory name, not the filename.

Re: Old BMS Hardware Thread

Funny you should mention capacitors, because that's exactly what I signed on tonight to ask about. I've seen versions of the slave board with 1, 2 and 3 capacitors. From your post today, it sounds like I could start with 1 capacitor, and add more if necessary. Does that sound about right? Thanks. Bill

Can someone please give me an explanation of this "open pin" issue that was discussed a couple of pages back? Let's say I have a pack that's not connected to anything (contactors of positive and negative end of pack are open). I start to connect my 16-cell board, and only positive-most and...

Peter, I've been reading the recent posts, but I've gotten myself confused. There was talk about a pulse and extending the pulse by 10x. But the code still seems to be using serial communications. Can you straighten me out?

Thanks.

Software Noise Mitigation

Peter, Microcontroller programming is new to me, but I think you can call an assembler routine from PICBASIC. Perhaps something like the following pulsin replacement for the Master would help get rid of spurious noise. Basically, it starts counting the high pulse, then waits for a minimum 1275-micro...

understanding serial

Can someone help me understand the serial communication between the slaves and master? Here's what I think I know. 1) Master uses 5V as Mark and 0V as Space 2) For Master Bus, all slave optos are connected in parallel 3) On Master, Rx is tied to 0V when all slave optos are off 4) When any slave pull...

The reason I asked about how you ordered your samples is because when I go to Linear and follow the instructinos, I end up with a page that says: "This product is not currently available for order online. Please contact your local sales office or distributor for availability." And there's ...

What will you be using to drive the SPI? And what will you be using as a master? And as if that weren't enough questions, how do I go about getting some samples?

Thanks.

Peter, just a question about the Delay variable and its comments. In the master, Delay 2500 says that it's 1.25 seconds at 8Mhz. But in both Master and Slave, Delay = 10 says to delay 10 milliseconds. Does Delay 10 really delay only 5 milliseconds at 8Mhz?

Thanks.

Hi, Peter. I was just reviewing the Master code. If I'm reading it correctly, it issues a gosub to Warning: only when Warnings > 0. But let's say that some warning condition happens and a LED gets turned in in Warning: If the condition then goes away the next time through the MainLoop and Warnings =...
