Re: Flow Batteries: The future of high-capacity energy stora

Hi Beemer Most membranes in redox flow cells consist of a polymer matrix with channels lined with sulphonic acid groups. These will facilitate the migration of most cations across the cell - in our case we used sodium but the cell could work with Lithium or Potassium. After I finished at National Po...

Re: Flow Batteries: The future of high-capacity energy stora

Use to work on these in mid 90's at National Power for load levelling so this is hardly a breakthrough and quinone/hydroquinone couple is as old as the hills. I'm sure things will have changed over the years but I would just like to qualify some of the statements. 1. Yes the bromine/bromide redox co...

Crooza Electric Bikes - another e-bike company going arse up

I have just received an e-mail from Crooza Electric Bikes saying - "It is with regret that Crooza Limited will close its doors after just over one year in business. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the many dealers who have worked with us to bring electric motorbikes to the UK mar...

Hi and good luck In a not too previous life we had a bike shop selling small cc motorcycles and mopeds (inc electric). We never did sell any of the electric scoots as the petrol equivalents were cheaper - or more correctly - less initial cost (£600 against £1100/£2500 for electric). Unfortunately, w...

Jon, just a thought - does a branny e-car require a running in period? I never thought about it until you mentioned the speed.

Have we got the beginnings of a new thread? I am sure there is a lot of scope to start a nice big argument here.

I "popped in" to their showroom on Thursday 24/09 but they couldn't talk too much as the shipment of cars had arrived that week and they were too busy organising deliveries (Thats what they said anyway - I'm sure it wasn't anything to do with me turning up in scruffy jeans and T-shirt). Th...

Thanks Ed et al for organising the event. - Usual last minute change of plan. I can now come down and I'll bring a few vehicles if anyone is short of an EV and wants to enter. (I know it’s not the same as running your own but sometimes where needs must!). - I'll be travelling down from Manchester wi...
