Curtis 1244 Controller 'Precharge Fault'

Hi, Are there any Curtis controller experts out there? I may have (rather stupidly - not double checking the pack was isolated before tinkering) damaged my 1244 when I removed a (coil-damaged - old unrelated issue) relay powering the DC-DC converter in my 2007 (DC sepex) Aixam Mega City Electric. I ...

Recycling/disposal of LiFePO4 Batteries

Recycling/disposal of LiFePO4 Batteries Hi All, I have 6 Thundersky 160Ah batteries which appear to have had it; they are bulging, leaking small amounts of electrolyte from around the terminals and reading pretty much zero volts. I have also tried charging them gently but they will not hold any sort...

Re: Expert battery advice needed - Aixam Mega City

So, someone please correct me if I am wrong, but Carl's photo of the AMC's battery layout suggests a '3P 4S' (3 parallel, 4 series) layout which equates to a nominal pack spec of 48V, ~200Ah weighing ~250kg? If so, seems to me the ideal replacement solution would be 4 x Valence U27-12XP on their sid...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread

Hi Anthony, You should be able to figure out which switch position is which by measuring the resistance each position makes as it is this with the PIC measures to dictate an output to the program. As to what all the positions do... you should be able to figure *this* out from the program file.... or...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread

I assume you mean the switch(es) to interact with the BMS? Do these help? The schematic shows discrete switches but I seem to remember Peter suggested using a 5 way switch (like a joystick - up, down, left, right and push) to effect much of the functionality in a much more compact/cheaper/easier to ...

Re: British Gas Charger

...from British Gas about installing my charger . Sorry to be pedantic but what you are having installed is not a charger but an 'electric vehicle service equipment', 'charge point' or whatever but certainly not a charger as this is what you have in your car. I point this out only because it annoys...

Re: I-Miev HELP

Bought a cable from EV Connectors for £157 all in ! Gad! If anyone else has this issue, PM me and I'll supply a 'dumb' 3m cable for £90, 'all in'. Looking into a control box that will allow type 2 charging on the car , and asking out local car electrician to wire it in for me. You need one of these...

Re: LEAF CHARGER PROJECT

Hi Skooler, If your reply was aimed at my last post, it appears Siai47 has got around the need for Chademo protocols/plugs etc by just accessing the battery terminals directly and overriding the main contactor to allow his Brusa access to charge the battery directly. If I understand correctly, this ...

Re: I-Miev HELP

I have the OVMS unit installed in my 2011 iOn which shows 10A charging off the standard lead with the 'brick' in it and 13A charging when using the 16A T2 to T1 cable plugged into my Polar EVSE. Both taper down to 2A or so before the charge terminates.
