Re: Flow Batteries: The future of high-capacity energy stora

Ummm, feeling there`s a disjoint here. Wasn`t these proposed batteries supposedly lithium and not a chemical cell?

Re: Alittle advice with charging final phase with lifepo4

I said nothing of the sort and the Leaf reference was proof. If I had a belief an extra 10% of Voltage was my aim then I would of stated the Voltage. The meaning was 10% more battery. You can save that by driving a little more slowly or carefully. Any prolonged voltages would never be held over 3.38...

Re: Alittle advice with charging final phase with lifepo4

Why did you assume I said add another 10% Voltage? That flies in the face of what I'm saying all along! There is no point whatsoever attempting to eek out the last bits of charge. You could get more charge out of the pack by adding in insulation and a thermal blanket! Just keep it simple and enjoy t...

Re: Alittle advice with charging final phase with lifepo4

Then add another 10%! The Leaf has a 24KWH pack but is allowed to only 'see' about 20KWH from new. The useful range is within that! It hits the red line at 30%. Often my pack does not charge over 90%, sometimes 93% of the allowed limits due to common variances in the cells. The Leaf pack is not bala...

Re: Alittle advice with charging final phase with lifepo4

Is it worth the teensy weenie little bit at the end which is so close to hurting your pack?

I'd just bung in current to 3.4V max on the known first cell to hit maxV then stop.

But that's me.

Re: 200 mile range Leaf anyone?

Hi Rory,
Was told last night "The new Leaf expected in two years will have up to a 65KWH battery pack".

That, is tempting for a new buy!
