Is the charging points database actually working ?

I have now tried to tell peeps that I have a charging point available in Maidstone Kent under two login names, but I cannot see my location appear on the map nor any other peoples charging points. Is it me or has no-one else said they would be prepared to help a fellow EVer with a charge ? :( John

Hi Chris - I think the flattening and shorting bars is more for safety than for preserving the life of the Ni-Cad. I have an article somewhere I'll try and dig out about preserving NiCads, but if anyone is in Aerospace you coukl dask them what they do with the aircraft starting NiCads to store them....

Hi Floydster - I would get your battery off a cold floor either on timber or better still in an insulated box perhaps some of that very thick polystyrene they use when laying floors in houses. Are the batterys sealed or wet batteries. If sealed you may want to think about completely enclosing them, ...

Warm battery

This weather we are having is great for getting best performance out of your EV batteries.

I have noticed less voltage droop, graeter range and higher terminal voltage.

maybe there is something in having a heated battery compartment for winter.

Agora on ebay

Have you seen the little Agora - French electric vehicle, advertised on Ebay. Looks even more like a noddy car than the REva (G-Whizz).

I spose Lithiums might be suitable for it if you have a spare 10k to spend !
