Re: Can Bus items

Before I try and get around the can bus control , does anyone know of a simple way of switching between the two states. I do hope that someone can give you better details of this device, however I'm fairly certain that it doesn't operate how you suspect. The CAN interface is a serial stream of data...

But you cannot isolate the Charger in the way that you have drawn it, on the Berlingo. When you plug in the standard Avcon connector into the side of the vehicle the wires that you would connect in parallel with the main input cables on the charger, I did not connect anything in parallel! My entire...

Indeed yes this is ther answer. But as I said in first post the problem is the pins of the 13amp plug become LIVE when you are charging from the conventional socket under the flap on the O/S wing. John NO IT DOES NOT! Standard skt goes to standard 13A skt, which would become live when you pl...

I think it needs the KISS approach. Somewhere I am sure there is a plug and socket type that has fully enclosed pins so that neither end may be touched. .... The idea was for it to be a less often used method than charging at home, to help out if you found yourself in need of a quick charge boost i...

Must admit the contactor idea while it works and would be safe would start to make a simple job rather expensive and long winded :( ChrisB Well I disagree upon the long winded. As for expense, well cost was not mentioned as a issue, however I did do some quick calculations and it would be about £6...

If you put an enclosed socket on the end of these short connector lead instead then how do you plug it into the mains without a similar risky live pinned plug on the end of a lead with a plug at both ends. John Easy. Fit a terminal box with two contactors in it. Take the feed from one socket to one...

Really not sure how he's going to come up with the goods on this, unless you just record tyre noise :? ChrisB I agree. There is one possibility that did occur to me. On Youtube there are a couple of videos of dyno testing of a water cooled motor by greenmotorsport. It's quiet, but the ramping of th...

The editor is good for finding syntax errors etc. I wrote most of the code in windows notepad, only loading it into the editor to check it and then upload it to the chip! Not sure if it's any help, but you might like to try notepad++ as a editor. I find the colour coding very useful and it's abilit...

Previously the Department for Transport (DfT) had discouraged the systems which reduce fuel use, resulting in less tax being paid to the Treasury. Err, I came across that on another forum and got the inside gen from someone in the biz. The BBC (and others) are misrepresenting quite a few things. He...

Yeah whats the betting it will be £5 off a G-Wizz  ChrisB Well I for one don't expect £2K off a G-Wizz. Despite MB's claim there has been a official statement, though that's not the same as saying that the details are fixed. One thing about that statement was that, as posted, it only cov...
