Re: Recommendations for a 'dry' lead acid battery for EV use

I would like to know if elecsol's new agm batteries last as well as claimed. also C&D technologies deep cycle units are said to last for 600 cycles to 80% dod and 1800 cycles to 50% dod. I am very very interested in the results of your tests. I am using Haze agm units in my city-el so far 1,840 ...

Re: Aixam Mega Van Battery Replacement

If your van uses lead acid agm batteries then you could try Blue box batteries.
they sell C&D Technologies deep cycle agm 12v batteries.
The largest is 100ah c/20, 600 cycles at 80% dod is claimed.
I don't know if their size and weight is ok for your vehicle, also I don't know their cost.

Re: Poor battery life

I have just finished charging my batteries after a 9 mile trip. My numax chargers apear to increase their output voltage as the battery voltage increases. I don't know what the maximum was as I missed it :? This doe's not look like the constant current constant voltage method to me. What effect this...

Re: Poor battery life

I have the haze agm spec. sheet in front of me, the one hour capacity is 66ahs. The maximum charge current is 21.4amps, does this sugest that the maximum discharge current should also be 21.4 amps? My chargers do not have temperature compensation, could this reduce battery life? My chargers may not h...

Poor battery life

After only 11 months and 1300 miles my four Haze 110ah agm lead acids are begining to fail. Range was about 45 miles now 25ish. This is very disappointing as I have treated them well, never discharging them more than 25% except once at 50%. The maximum discharge current is 100 amps, and I only...

Re: Anyone got any experience of NUMAX CXV batteries?

I have now replaced my numax batteries with haze 110 ah (c/20) agm ones. Supplied by Dragon Electric Vehicles, they have a c/1 capacity of 66 amp hours. These batteries have added 9% to the total wieght of my city-el if you include me, and yet range has gone up to 45 to 50 miles. 8) The ammeter whic...

Re: Anyone got any experience of NUMAX CXV batteries?

My Numax batteries have now done 600 miles and the max. range of my city-el is now down to about 15 miles.
I did not expect this loss in capacity to happen so quickly.
I am now looking for some new better (lead acid) batteries, any ideas?

Re: Anyone got any experience of NUMAX CXV batteries?

I have fitted four numax XV31MF 113ah batteries to my 48v city-el. They cost me £320 and give a range of aprox 30 to 40 miles and 40mph top speed. They are now 8 months old and have given me 450 miles so far. There does seem to be a small capacity loss, maybe 10%. My city-el has a max. discharge cur...

Hi, I used the numax batts because they were cheap £320 for four. I did not wish to spend alot at this stage as I was far from sure the car would work after all the electrical work I did on it. I could not find the cycle life of them from Manbat who is the importer, but I hope they can last out this...

48v City-El

Hi, I now have my City-El on the road and running on 48v! The car is fitted with cheap leisure batteries, Numax 113ah sealed sort (aprox. 60ah at the c/1 rate). The best speed I have reached so far is 40mph this I think is close to its limit. Range is aprox. 40 miles over undulating roads ( less at ...
