Re: Old BMS Hardware Thread
thanks! that will help a ton. i don't have the parts in front of me but i'll definitely get on it as soon as i'm back, i took a short break for christmas but i'll be back doing stuff on the 28th. just out of curiosity, are you using one temp sensor? or two? because i only really need one of them, bu...

Re: Old BMS Hardware Thread
i figured out the eeprom, it was pretty simple to just match up the memory arrangement and speed and order the only one that showed up in the search on mouser. i can post a part number if anyone wants it. now i'm trying to set up the temp sensor, but i'm away for a while so i can't work on it. i thi...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
i definitely only changed it in one place, that's likely the problem. i'll look for the other places tomorrow if i have time. i think i have the right part number, but i'll double check and post it in here. and i have one more sensor (the company sent me two samples) so i can plug them both in and t...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
read the serial number and updated the software, but now the display shows that it is reading 85 degrees. i thought maybe it was somehow reading in farenheit instead of C, because it's about 83F in here. but i tried holding the sensor in my hand and it didn't change, so it seems to be getting a bad ...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
hmm...the schematic i have doesn't show a 1M resistor anywhere. this is what i followed:
do i need to change something?
sorry for the huge picture... i'll stick a 1M resistor between pin1 and pin6 of J1

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
BMS is working perfectly on the bench. i have it set up to read from a six cell lipo battery, driving a little TFT car lcd screen. haven't set up the speed sensor or current sensor inputs yet, but that's the next step with it. I used the previous PBP3 codes peter just uploaded, and changed the volta...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
almost there! (i think) running PBP3, and have figured out how to use MPASM as the assembler (turns out it's the default assembler in PBP3 and so isn't an issue) The next thing i have to do is modify the code a little bit to fit my battery system, i'm using LIPO batteries so the voltages are a littl...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
Trying to figure out how to use the master code on the picaxe chips. the latest version of the picaxe master code i've found so far is here, posted by peter: http://www.solarvan.co.uk/bms/MASTER170109_V95_2400BAUD.txt" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I'm using the latest version of &qu...
