Re: Fully charged but Amps is lowered when it accelerates

Hi Michael, This happens when the BMS tells the controller to reduce the power. When a cell goes below 2.5 volts it limited the power the controller can take, and when the cells goes back above 2.5 volts it lets the controller take full power. This happens lots of times and it can feel like the car ...

Re: Another EV bike :)

Sounds like having the smaller packs will give you the flexability of putting them together in any combination that you need to, and to then change them around if required.

Re: Power cuts = no transport

Wow, now that is a long old power outage. We had one a couple of years back, and I ran my small invertor off the citroen 12v battery for a few hours to keep my router alive as well.

Sort of a side bonus being able to get plenty of fire wood from the storm.

Re: Another EV bike :)

Nice to see you have your welder back in action. Shame the cheap Chinese things never seem to work out. I think if you went for the small packs, then you would have more options for creating a higher voltage pack as well. You may well end up wanting a higher voltage pack for those higher speeds on t...

Re: Drive Electric day - Winchester

Unfortunately I was not able to stay for very long at the drive elctric day this year, although my car did manage a few hours there.

Nice to meet a few new faces as well, and missed a few others.

Here is a pick from the day.

Re: Another EV bike :)

Thats not too bad, drawing 9 amps for 2.5 hours, is what, about 22 ah. Will you be able to test the a larger pack when you have built one at higher currents? I wouldn't like to try and drain 100+ amps unless I had the correct equipment to do it.

Re: Another EV bike :)

Lots of great information and it sounds like it wont be too long before you have a production line going turning out the battery packs there.
