When a cell goes below 2.5 volts it limited the power the controller can take, and when the cells goes back above 2.5 volts it lets the controller take full power. This happens lots of times and it can feel like the car ...

Sounds like having the smaller packs will give you the flexability of putting them together in any combination that you need to, and to then change them around if required.

Wow, now that is a long old power outage. We had one a couple of years back, and I ran my small invertor off the citroen 12v battery for a few hours to keep my router alive as well.

Sort of a side bonus being able to get plenty of fire wood from the storm.

Unfortunately I was not able to stay for very long at the drive elctric day this year, although my car did manage a few hours there.

Thats not too bad, drawing 9 amps for 2.5 hours, is what, about 22 ah. Will you be able to test the a larger pack when you have built one at higher currents? I wouldn't like to try and drain 100+ amps unless I had the correct equipment to do it.

well, at least you got one pack assembled before the welder bust. I hope you get it sorted out okay.

Lots of great information and it sounds like it wont be too long before you have a production line going turning out the battery packs there.
