Re: BMS General
Peter, I have a small situation that I wanted to ask you about. It is occurring on my multi-slave boards which are based on your design but contain 12 channels vs the 16 channel boards that Greg has. This situation is this. If I put a power supply across any one cell it will charge up to 3.65 volts ...

Re: BMS Hardware
I just want to let everyone know that there are 3 tabs on the bottom of the spreadsheet. The first tab is the component list for two of the 12 channel slave boards that I built for my setup. They utilize the same basic design as Greg's 16 channel slave board but some of the components will be differ...

Re: BMS General
I found the data on the varistors...thanks.
Greg....I searched for a parts list on the master board ver 2.0 but didn't find anything. Peter seemed to think you had started a parts list for this board. If you have one I would like to compare it to the one I have started.
Thanks....
Rick

Re: BMS General
I have been working on completing the mechanical side of my second vehicle. I am about ready to build version 2.0 of the master. You have several varistors in the schematic. Is there any specifics I need to know to get the correct ones for this application?

Re: BMS Hardware
Peter, I came across another idea in regards to possible load resistors being stuck on. Instead of just turning the transistor on, they were going to send it a PWM pulse from the micro with a max duty cycle of 50% to achieve their desired bypass current. The circuit would also have a slow blow fuse ...

Peter, Very interesting stuff you are doing. Have you done any tests to see how long it takes for the cell voltage to stabilize after the load resistor has been turned off? I know your system uses a relatively low load resistor so it may return very quickly. The slaves are running so fast that it ma...

Peter, Here is the link for the LEM current sensor http://www.lem.com/docs/products/hass_e.pdf As I mentioned, the one I am using is the Hass 300-S. It either adds or subtracts .625 volts from 2.5 volts (0 amps) when the sensor sees 300 amps. It is a linear relationship all the way to 900 amps. Abov...

My mistake on the chip. I saw 512K and didn't take the time to read bit and assumed byte. I am running V1.7 on the software since I am still using V1.0 on the master. The modification I did to the software was simply remed out your line: BatCurrent = 512 - BatCurrent / 3 ;Subtract sensor offset to g...
