Currently, it's showing 587g/kWh. That means, if my car did 5km/kWh, I'd be contributing similar emissions to a BMW 116d. That's a lot higher than I expected! I'd be better off with a Citroen C1 or a Mini Diesel than an EV today.

No, I've not put a deposit down. I'm waiting to see if I can stick with the Roadster when the baby arrives in Feb (or Jan, if it's early). If I can, then I'll wait, otherwise, I'll be buying something else and getting a Model S in a few years.

The annoyance is in the wait until it's available, which is a year or two away. I could really do with swapping my two-seater for a family car tomorrow. It's frustrating to see that what I want is possible but not available.

I've found this nice looking kit car , which is available in an electric version. I think the vendor is a member of this forum. I'm not sure how much range it'd get though if it was packed to the hilt with lithium or how much it'd cost and I would guess that most company cars have to have 4 doors. I...

No Company Car Tax For EVs!

Last week, it was announced that company car tax would be suspended for 5 years for EVs. That's great news! I believe that the value of the car can also be offset against corporation tax, so a benefit for the company too. Sadly, most people entitled to a company car need to travel reasonable distanc...

Vapourware then. Although, I did find suggested prices of £60000, so even if they did start selling it, I wouldn't buy one. If it was half the price, however...

I didn't even know Ginetta had an EV in their line-up. There's very little about it on their website, other than a top speed of 120mph and a range of 250 miles. I wonder how much it is?

How are you going to select gears? It's a semi-automatic gearbox that's controlled by the ECU for the engine. You'd need to make your own ECU to control the motors that change gear, I guess.

That is incredibly cool. I do like the old Trabants and this one just looks like the love child of an original Trabant and a BMW Mini. Under £20k too!

There's nothing on the Reva website about this car but I found a photo here . This is very close to being usable for me. My trip to work at the moment is 86 miles, so assuming that's a realistic 100 miles and I can plug in at work, I could use one. However, it's too close to the bone for my liking. ...
