Wait and see what it actually sounds like when you finish. Mine already sounds like a jet engine when accelerating. Peter But does it have the afterburner? Yes, I'm reluctant to do any more then dream and ponder such things until the car is fully functional. Besides it would be nice to hear t...

It's weeny! I hope it works well for you and I look forward to the reports of its progress and usability. I have been weighting up how much battery I need in the MR2 and I am looking at around 45 180Ah LiFePo4. I've figured that the £/Ah cost is about the same regardless of capacity so I just ...

I should get delivery sorted out this weekend. :D

Where to get a motor from?

I am looking to source a forklift motor as I really can't afford to invest in a WarP9 imported from the States. Any suggestions of any good forklift breakers that are worth approaching? Has anyone here used that route? I don't really want to buy a whole truck from Ebay, no matter how cheap, mainly d...

It will be interesting to see how these work out for you. I am working on the basis that I will have to use LiFePo batteries as the only way to achieve usable range and reasonable weight. I haven't imported anything over from China either (except for the occasional relative but I was able to send th...

That isn't a very fair conclusion is it? We further considered that the claim "ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY" implied there would be no environmental damage when taking into account the full life cycle and use of the product, including both manufacturing and charging it. We reminded Vectrix tha...

Ahhh yes, thanks Timpootle.

I got a pm from Simon to this effect yesterday on another forum we both use.

So, has anyone tried making and using one of these for a vehicle yet?

Is there anymore information on this, Simon? I think given my lack of budget to do anything (and minimal remaining knowledge on electronics) I will be keeping things mechanical. I was figuring on the throttle pedal acting directly, via cable or rods, to move the brush mounting plate against the retu...
