Re: 8 Battery Lead Acid Slave Board

1. Fibre optic communication for the master bus. This should eliminate interference as my car is electrically noisy. My experience with Fiber optic com's is quite the reverse. Sure the cable does not act pick up anything, the problem is that the optical receiver is very sensitive and picks up every...

Re: Computer Maths & Programming Question

Well I don't know what happened there. Most of my text was lost and some of the characters came out wrong. I question the first line of your code, I think that it's wrong. If your ADC has more than 8 bits it usually fills 8 bits rather than ignoring one of the bits. Also the zero point is either at ...

Re: expensive

why are eletric motors so expensive? I did warn you that one-stop-shop's were expensive. As has been said you can pick up a reconditioned forklift motor quite cheaply. Here is a link to give you a couple of ideas. http://www.forkenswift.com/electric-car-conversion-cost.htm" onclick="window.open(thi...

We have all done it. Quite a while ago I managed to vaporise the probes on the multi-meter at work, weld a contactor and blow the 60A fuses on the bus bar. We swore a bit I can tell you.

Re: Motor oil seals - where to buy?

Citroen would order the seal from France, but with all your helpful advice I went to a bearing stockist and bought a seal of the same size (30 x 40 x 7). The lip on the original part is unusual, being a stiff, curved material. My new seal is a conventional shaft seal. We shall see how it fits when ...

Re: ADAM SMITH COLLEGE >>>EV

Have a look at this open source controller project; http://paulandsabrinasevstuff.com/ Thanks Greg and NightTrain. I'm enjoying reading the development thread and am about 1/10 through. I should say that although I have not reached the end of the thread that the current design is clearly a work in ...

Re: ADAM SMITH COLLEGE >>>EV

For the motor we plan to get and AC motor around 15-20KW, with a 120 operting voltage. Please let me know of good sources to buy that. I'm sure that Night Train will be along shortly to comment. He's converting a MR2 as well. However you might just have a few problems sourcing that exact drive trai...

Interesting lithium article

Don't expect to plan on using any of these batteries for quite some time, if ever. However there is a very interesting article about the research going on into new lithium batteries in "New electronics". Reading between the lines it also explains why people clamp lithium batteries and why ...

On the subject of advertising, while I agree that this forum is not the place for it I would argue that should Plugged-in re-appear adverts will be very important.

I would suggest 3xe contact the editor for advertising space.
