Re: Failure to start

Hi all, Looking for some advice and suggestions. Berlingo regularly refuses to start at the beginning of the day. The fault is much worse after it has been charged and it can be a couple of days before I can get it to start. If I can get it to start in the morning it’s generally completely fine for...

Mmm, is this the same dash ECU light that comes on with the ECO gauge warning light, mine flashed up this morning for the first time. No. Check the manual, that is the light indicating that the battery is low. The electrical fault light is the symbol of a diode with a lightning bolt (zigzag).

Another alternative for the black rubber covered cable, if you want something brighter, is Lapp Robotcable. This is available in 3 core and a range of sizes - the cover is bright orange, not PVC, and I'd say it's probably harder wearing and just as flexible as the rubber stuff. I should try to remem...

The SY cable that Tim mentioned isn't too bad, although it might be considered overkill. Two points about the cables: I've heard of a rash of them going bad recently. All that is needed is a battery that is healthy - a new battery one one which tests OK on one of those cheap resistor testers will be perfectly fine, even if it's a bit flat. Batteries that have been allowed to sit dead flat a few times are the problem (as they have such high internal resistance th...
