Re: ETRIKE BY MILLS EXTREME VEHICLES LTD
Hey stuart, I have just been reading the feature on your E-trike in Kitcar magazine, looks great by the way. Can you realy build one for £1500 all included? Could you break down the cost to give a better idea of the different componets cost. Are you using the D127 lynch motor on your build? I have a...

Re: how to improve my range???
Yea I know they wouldnt stand a chance. Its back to the drawing board I think! For now I'l keep the car in my garage, its only 24miles from there to work. The only downside is swapping cars from my house to to the garage! :? I'm thinking about changing the controller for a higher voltage one, 156v m...

Re: how to improve my range???
My commute to work is 30miles, so I really need to be getting quite a lot more range, I don't want to strain the batteries to much, when I start driving to work. Is that one way or round trip? If 30 miles is the round trip, then you need to convince your employer to let you charge at work. 30 miles...

Re: how to improve my range???
No wonder the extension lead was getting hot, the charger is pulling 22amps and before only 16amps! What have you got your charger plugged into??! 22 amps should have tripped a fuse/circuit breaker on a 16A supply, surely? Got it slightly wrong: Its 19amps input at 230v and 22amps 120v output. Only...

Re: how to improve my range???
Use a big thick short charging lead no point using the extension lead as a heater! Pump tyres up very hard and/or get rid of any low profile wide tyres and fit the skinniest you can find. Consider changing rims to acheive this and even get an eco tyre if you can find one. Keep speed below 40mph if ...

Re: how to improve my range???
Today's test drive went really well, a full charge from the newly pragrammed charger. I got 29 miles. I was a little concerned to start with as the final charged voltage was 127v compared to 133v before. No wonder the extension lead was getting hot, the charger is pulling 22amps and before only 16am...

Re: how to improve my range???
I Got the charger back from zapi So i took the golf for drive today. The batteries were 75% charged already, and I charged them from 75% to 100% with the newly programmed charger. I got to 18 miles and again it stopped. Then I remembered, I had read that the zapi controller has a battery check setti...

Re: Battery current Output??
The lifebatt 8/16ah pack I have for sale weighs 20kg ;) I do not recommend 50ah highpower cells for the discharge rate you are looking at, they may work but you should be aiming for an average drain of 1C max IMO with a peak of 150A (3C) You could try 20ah A123 pouch cells they can do an easy 10C a...

Re: Battery current Output??
Thanks Jeremy, these packs sound quite promising.
40 packs will give me around 72v 40ah, 20kg and cost around $1200
Just wandering what you meant by 16S 6P?. I see you will need 6 parallel x 4 series to make 60v 30ah.
What were you thinking for BMS for these batteries?
