Re: MECC Manchester
ok,, well, while GMEV / Chargeyourcar has been set up in the Greater Manchester area; I can make some comments about the use of.. 1. - Went to Bolton into the multi storey NCP car park. Here they have three floors of charge points. Two floors were totally ICE'd out and the third was blocked off by e...

Re: MECC Manchester
Podpoint <NOT> Polar.. Ooops. Thats it. Silly me. Thx Kevin.  I'm not a contract mobile phone carrying person so would prefer one single & free card for any charging post. I've ordered a lifetime CYC card (£10). This should enable me for a lot of these local posts. I checked a loca...

Re: MECC Manchester

IMO they are seperate companies; http://www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/mergers_ea02/2013/Chargemaster.pdf Thanks for clarifying that Kev :) Didn't we also read of a Leafer that used used a po...

Re: EV Fires
No way! The cells shouldn't get hot at all! There is no way you should be able to overheat them on a charge unless its very high C rates indeed. i.e. a 50KW Chademo...(2C) Even though my pack has not showed any sign of heating up when charging with one. If they get hot when charging its either the B...

Re: MECC Manchester
Chargemaster/Podpoint were two separate companies but now operate under the same banner. Effectively merged.... But wait! Seen the news?
Chargemaster have floated on the stock exchange the other day and BMW has bought the major stake. I have no idea what their business plan is.

Re: EV Fires
The larger Kokams are not Lithium polymer (LiPo). However you are dead right about fires only happening while charging. They have been known to burst into flames slightly after the chargers knocked off too. All BMS related. That car was mad, it had two Brusa chargers, cell voltages were set to the v...

Re: MECC Manchester
Richard told me the Model S might be driven, awww! lol I've got a 62196 to 1772 lead and left the Trafford centre just four hours ago! Do'h! Ordered the card itself today from CYC. Slightly off topic, we spied the two posts at Golbourne Adsa car park yesterday then totally forgot who they were. I th...
