Re: Old BMS Software Thread
good news! we took the machine out today and had very few problems. the speed sensor was giving us totally random results (usually less than 1 mph when i was doing 20 according to a radar sign) but i'm about 99% sure this was EMI related, since the vss leads travel literally all the way over the top...

Re: Old BMS Hardware Thread
not done yet, but most of the hardware is finished for the BMS. now it's all software touch-ups and actually mounting the pieces where they belong, but as-is they have all the correct wires on them and come on when the machine comes on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2KCN3Euy-c&feature=g-upl&am...

Re: Old BMS Hardware Thread
i am hoping the same thing! right now i am trying to figure out how to wire up an "insulation monitoring device" (sometimes known as a "bender" because of the company that makes them). we have two that are really simple to interface with, but sometimes give false signals, and the...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
thanks guys! i think i'll order up some new pics. at least that would give extra overhead in the future, if nothing else. i think the config lines you're using would be VERY helpful! my buddy that's handling most of the programming is actually a lot more familiar with C so i'm sure he will be able t...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
oops! we used up all of the space on the pic....
probably the right thing to do is to go through and tidy it all up and delete stuff it doesn't need, but most of the stuff is needed for making the screen look nice.
wonder if there's another pic that would be compatible with more memory?

Re: BMS System
charging a thundersky to 4.35 will result in very rapid cell death, from what i've read and seen (don't ask me how i know, but it had something to do with bypassing the bms and overcharging an old headway pack)

speedometer fix
the speed sensor pin needs to be configured slightly differently in order for the speed sensing features to work. here's the changes we made this is the block of code that was changed, Define OSC 8 'Set PicBasic Pro processor speed to 8 Mhz (Must match oscillator value) OSCCON = %01110101 'Internal ...
