Re: Possible to move regen to the brake pedal?
But I would never use the regen on a steep downgrade now that's asking for trouble
But that is just what it is built to do Harry. There is less current going back into the battery on a steep hill regen than on a brisk take off from the traffic lights. I would recommend just driving i...

Re: Possible to move regen to the brake pedal?

My advice is do NOT put it into neutral, this will cause very high voltage to appear across the armature under no load condition and when you do plonk it back into forward there will be a spike to quench. I lost my first Berlingo controller to doing this ! You will get used to the light right foot t...

Re: Pipe connector for Berlingo Electrique battery top up?

Dont know whether you have this sorted but I never used the adaptor, I just unscrewed the end on the van, took out the spring and the bit of plastic and warmed up a bit of clear placcy tube and pushed it on the end. This was connected to an upturned plastic bottle with the distilled water in it hung...

Re: So should I buy one ??

The range on the Berlingo was down to between 20 - 30 miles and I thought I would sell it while it still had some useful life left in it. Went without an EV for a year and then someone I knew had a leaf and they were selling it as they had ordered a Tesla (deep pockets)! So it has done about 38,000 ...

Re: So should I buy one ??

So I bought it - hi mileage at 35000 for a 2011 but a good price. Needs a bit of TLC to clean up but it was about the same price as I paid for my 4 yr old Blingo back in 2007. So if I get 7 yrs use out of the Leaf then I will be a happy bunny. Taking a while to get my head round all the features and...

So should I buy one ??

So - after suffering withdrawal symptoms since the trusty old Blingo went, I have been offered a 61 plate leaf with a fairly high mileage of 34,000, owned battery in reasonable shape - owned by a doctor. Problem is I am not sure what I should pay for it ? We buy any car has a buy in price of only £2...

Re: Bitten the bullet-lets see if the Solar PV stuff is any

Just google Solarmiser. Its a cost effective no frills 2 output power diverter.

Seems to do what it says on the tin and reduces the amount you give to the grid (at paltry rates) and allows you to get free hot water or storage heating. Suitable for all resistive loads.

Re: Bitten the bullet-lets see if the Solar PV stuff is any

Well I have now had my 3Kwp system installed for a month and am making between 10 - 20KwH per day (avg 12kWh/day this month) Have got a power diverter too, so once I have satisfied the normal house load, the surplus power heats a double size hot tank and then once that is satisfied it goes into a th...

History of the Sheffield Uni Berlingos up for sale.

I see the Ex Sheffield Uni Berlingo(s) are coming upforsale. Anyone know any of the history of them. I didnt think they were V5 registered and they used them for experiments and around the campus. There were some at Southampton too , which ended in a scrapyard on the south coast but you were not all...

Bitten the bullet-lets see if the Solar PV stuff is any good

After a few years of putting off fitting some solar PV, finally decided to get a small (3.15 Kwp) system fitted. I originally looked a few years ago when payments of 40p/Kwh were being made - but the costs were very high and the panels were not pretty. I have now been able to get a system installed ...
