C5alive have been invited to take part in this years Brooklands Vintage Cycle event
.

Here is a link to what happened last year ;

I'm hoping that this years event will be just as much fun , with the Raleigh Chopper racing, postmen racing on their delivery bikes, plus new and vintage machinery all whizzing around the M-Benz test track. Penny farthing racing has to be seen to be believed :D

..not forgetting of course that the C5's will also be venturing onto the track once again, and hopefully the skid pan :P

There is also the added bonus of my Test Hill challenge, using a C5 specifically adapted to get to the top of test hill on battery power alone.

The Brooklands Museum have no record of an electric vehicle doing so, who knows - it could go down in the histroy books :lol:
For those not familiar with the Test Hill, here are some details ;

Hope to see some of you there cheering us on 8)

It is the same c5, but with the petrol engine removed to make way for a nice big electric motor.

It is already a top laugh, can't wait until it's fully finished.

Best thing of all is that it is being built mainly from recycled (scrap yard) parts.

We're ready for the September event now, so we've got time to spend on the little things like wiring up the lights etc.

Can't wait for the big event :twisted:

Just a quick reminder that this Sunday is the Brooklands Vintage Cycle event.

Apart from penny farthings and other historic machinery, the Raleigh Choppers and Sinclair C5's will also be there.

Plus my "hill climb" project C5 is ready to tackle the feared "Test Hill" :twisted:

If anyone wants to come and cheer us on it would be most appreciated :D

...might have to work on my "rapid battery change" technique for the camera :D

Why the default setting is 2006 escapes me :roll: :?:

Incidentally, the Raleigh Chopper owners club were there as well, top respect to one of their guys who rode a Chopper to the top of the hill using a zig-zag style :shock:
