BBC Radio Appearance for the BVS

Postby MaryRCrumpton » Fri Jul 04, 2008 12:14 pm

Just wanted to let people know that the society will be getting a mention on BBC Radio tonight. I am being interviewed live on the radio, as Secretary of the Society, to promote the Society and the North-West event tomorrow (see the events section for details).

If you would like to hear what I say, then you can listen in online over the internet, even if you cannot receive BBC Radio Manchester where you live.

Just click on the link below at 10pm tonight:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/manchester/local_radio/

Press the 'Listen Live' button to hear the show. I have been given top billing and will be the first item, probably at about 10.10pm.

Wish me luck! :-)

Here is a recording of Mary's moment of fame. She was there for an hour, but with the music hacked out the mp3 is 20 minutes of talking.
20 Mb file *broken link*
File can now be found at http://www.experttuition.co.uk/maryradio.mp3

In it she has promoted the society, the website, the forum, the ev-charging network, conversions, manufactured EVs, GoodEnergy, and tomorrows meet in Manchester.
Well done, Mary!

And Well done Mary!!!! you did a great job! If I was to say anything you missed it was the horrendous price of petrol but hey people can figure that out themselves each time they visit the petrol station and get robbed!

Thanks for the positive feedback guys :-)

I was thinking I'd be doing a 2 minute spot, not be there for the whole first hour of the show! But it seemed to go well and I was very glad of the chance to promote the society. The radio station are sending someone to our event today too, and also I might be on a phone-in sometime in the future!

Drat.

I get " Your site has been removed because you have exceeded your bandwidth allowance."

Clearly there are too many BVS members who want to download that clip.
