EV chat in Kingston Upon Thames

I saw on the excellent membership map that there are a few BVS members in the Kingston Upon Thames/ Richmond/ Esher area. Last year I enjoyed chatting with a few 'greenies' at a screening of "Who Killed the electric car?" in Twickenham. Didn't get the chance to speak with any users other than the chap who worked for GoingGreen. I'd be interested to talk with someone local who's using a battery vehicle. Do you drive the yellow Gwiz in Kingston? Or is the Insight yours? I've seen a few e-bikes in town too. I don't have a battery vehicle myself yet mind you, but who knows, one day perhaps. I'm interested in pedal cycles and cars.

Maybe we could meet for a coffee or a pint & chat?

There are a few G-Wiz's in your neck of the woods that I am aware of. If you're interested in arranging a meeting in your area I would be more than happy to promote it within the G-Wiz Owners Club as well and see how many people can make it along.

If you do want to arrange a meeting, arrange it well in advance and get it publicised in the Battery Vehicle Review (last date for entries is 23rd January).

The G-Wiz Owner's Club is likely to hold another meeting somewhere in London (probably somewhere around Spitalfields) later in the Spring and you would always be welcome to come along to that. I'll post up more details nearer the time when I have more information.

Hello Mike, Thanks for your reply. I'm a bit wary of arranging and publicising a group meet just yet, but thanks for the suggestions. I'm completely new to BVs and don't have one of my own. I'd prefer to know a few people very locally just now. I'll keep an eye open for your Spitalfields meet up, and if the date is good for me I'll come and say hello. Bamber Gascoigne is local and makes no secret of his love for the GWiz. He gave the intro to film screening I went to.

Cheers for now.

(Come to think of it I can also recall a 'Quality Street' green triangle green one locally too).

I like that little article about Bamber and his G-Wiz, especially the idea of swapping cars with his neighbour when needed. That makes a lot of sense.

Hi,

I'm in Isleworth. I have a project under way but very little time so it's no more than a non running ice vehicle and a pile of motors, controllers and batteries at the moment.

I hope I get time to move forward in the early spring and I think a chat and a few pints with like minded individuals could give us all a boost of enthusiasm.

Hello Nino500. Thanks for replying. Where does the time go? Would be happy to meet up as and when you feel like it.

Meanwhile, here's a story from a while back that always makes me smile when I think of it.
