Electric vehicle grants scheme

Postby dargles » Sun Feb 28, 2010 8:33 pm

Hi, Folks.
I was meandering around the wonderful wide web just now, and stumbled across this:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2010/feb/25/green-sports-cars-subsidise-taxpayers

I gather that, last Thursday, the government announced a £2-5000 grant to subsidise the purchase of a new EV, starting 2011 (I think). Does anyone have inside info on this? I notice Boris is talking about this too, so maybe it won't disappear if Labour lose the election? There's also restrictions, so the G-Wizz plus some others don't qualify, apparently (not fast enough or long enough range). But you could get £5000 off a Tesla - oh, just £75K instead of £80K then...

Regards, David

Silly me...
Thanks, Chris. I was sure you guys must have been discussing it, but didn't think of looking there.
It looks like it will be a good offer, just need the right car. And a bit of money to buy it with, I guess...
Regards, David
