Hello all,
I've joined the BVS as I recently purchased a Enfield from near Cambridge. I'm experienced in rebuilding classic cars but the electric drive system is completely alien to me. I haven't surveyed the car yet so am unsure of its condition, more to follow. Mike

How original do you want it to be? The biggest advance has been in battery technology. Lead-acid although cheap works out very dear because it lasts such a short time. A lithium battery would be 1/3 the weight and 1/2 the volume roughly speaking. Because they can give more power for longer it may also be possible to overheat the motor.
