Electric car recharging point in Staffordshire

Postby MB » Mon Mar 10, 2008 6:31 pm

Folks

I have just received this e-mail:

Hi
I was wondering if there were any enthusiasts in the Staffordshire area? We are currently having some electric car recharging points installed on the car park of The Potteries Shopping Centre and we wondering whether someone would be available to attend the launch and perhaps speak to the press.
Many Thanks for your help.
Louise

I have no idea as yet when the grand opening is going to happen. However, it would be good to be able to give Louise and the Shopping Centre as much help with publicity as we can.

Anyone in the Staffordshire area who could make time to go along (and preferably take their electric vehicle as well?!)

If they did it off their own back I wonder what sort of outlets they installed ??

Tell me more!

I could probably make it on a full charge. Then be stuck there for ~8 hours...

Either way, that's excellent news for the future of EVs :-)

Edit- 28 miles. Easy. count me in.

That's great news!

And as Tim says, we can get there so we'd be happy to help out. I'll drop Louise an email.

I note that this shopping centre is part of the same company as the Bristol one who have charging points is. I shall have to email my local one, the Manchester Arndale, an badger them to install some charging points too ;-)

Hi qdos,

Assuming the launch date is one that Tim and I are available for, I have a decent camera and would be glad to take a few pictures and maybe write a few lines for Plugged in.

Mary.

ps I added to the thread about Stoneleigh, asking a couple of questions about that event and the AGM. If you know the answers, or can point me at someone who does, a reply in that thread would be appreciated. Ta :-)

Launch at The Potteries

Postby Potteries » Fri Apr 04, 2008 8:39 am

Hi
Thanks to Mike for putting my message on this board for information.

I can update you now that the launch of the electric car charging points at The Potteries Shopping Centre in Stoke on Trent is now next Wednesday 9th April at 1pm.

We are inviting members of the press.

Is anyone able to attend with the car please? That would be great.
Many Thanks for your help

I have asked for that day on holiday from work, but won't get a reply until Monday.

Does your car park have a height limit? My Berlingo is six feet tall.

I will try and get there to support the cause.
