Encourage elect. companies to go green .V. local generation?

Hi,

Currently, I am not considering local generation I want to support the electricity companies in developing green generators, etc that everyone can use. Also, I am guessing that economies of scale for large installations will give more payback on the energy/materials used to.

What do other people think ?
