Where do Prius go to die?

Postby aminorjourney » Wed Jun 18, 2008 7:03 am

So folks...

I'm looking for two additional high voltage battery packs from the 2004-current Prius (NWH 20).

If you see a Prius in a breaker's yard do let me know. I want those packs!

FIrst two things that a breakers do is, one remove the batteries and, two puncture the fuel tanks. Unfortunately I've not been able to find any decent scrappies local to me but I used to frequent them often. Probably more so that Halfords. In fact yes more so.

I'd ring round and ask, either way they are not going to be the standard "£25 mate"

Yeah...
I'm thinking they will be about £500 each... :/

Nikki, I am sure that there is someone on the Yahoo Prius forum who has had some dealings with 'broken' Prius, without checking I think it might be Chris Read but please double check.

Thanks Mark :)

I'm hoping to implement the conversion used by Norm at www.hybridinterfaces.ca

It may not be that easy to get hold of a used Prius battery pack as I think Toyota want them back and put a 'bounty' on them to encourage dealers and brakers to return them for recycling.
