yep - turned out okay in the end.

I had to re-fit the old shocks though 'coz the new ones are wider meaning the original bolts are all way too sort .

yep - I could have dropped in on my way to or from work and collected them myself ;

Could you possibly post some pictures up of how it all fits together - I've not had much of a response to my cry for help as yet (all on holiday ?) so I will give it a go myself on Saturday.

After consultation with Nikki, "JP" from Scotland and Palle in Denmark, a momentus event for the mini-el.

Today it achieved foward (and reverse) motion under its own power.

I am so chuffed (and relieved)....

Next is to finish off the minor bits and bobs before tackling the MoT and registration process.

Just need a brake light switch and a new horn. Hopefully,a mere molehill after the mountain climbed so far !

Not forgetting the offers of help, most appreciated - nice to know I wasn't totally alone when so far out of my depth...

Great news! Glad to hear that the El moves under its own power. Are all the accessories OK for the MOT (apart from that horn you mentioned)? Mine was missing the windscreen washer (now replaced).

You'll need to make sure that the MOT garage can do (a) three-wheelers (b) very narrow three-wheelers and (c) very narrow three-wheelers with a single headlight. Did you get a copy of the note that Nikki had from VOSA about testing very narrow vehicles at ground level, and not on a lift?

I'm hopeful that all I need to sort out now is ;

Fog light - fitted but not yet wired up

Reverse light - not working , new micro-switch needed

Brake lights - not working , new micro-switch needed

Then it's off to the MoT man/woman...I will e-mail Nikki a bit closer to the time for a copy of the letter.

I think she is, quite rightly, a little pre-occupied with Controllers at the minute .
