Hi Nikki, I noticed in this picture (at http://www.flickr.com/photos/aminorjourney/335242600/) that you have a stronger looking roll bar in your EL than Craig's and mine (here's mine for example at http://www.flickr.com/photos/23884667@N03/).

Nikki, Andreas, do you happen to know if this style in Nikki's vehicle will fit a 1993 model?

Thanks,
Scott[/img]

Hi Scott,

Not sure about the direct replacement, but this photo gives you a better idea of how they're fixed in.

Next time Meeeester John (AKA Anachrocomputer) is over we'll compare our roll bars side by side.

In the meantime, here's how mine is fitted in, taken before I did any major mods to the car:

Hi Nikki, It looks possible; my rollbar has about 14mm (5.5 inch) spacing between the two bolts on each side. Front shows a threaded stud sticking up, back shows a bolt head, which looks like your photo, I think. Their positions relative to the wheel arch look very similar to yours as well.

Thanks,
Scott

Great.

I think that it should be a fairly easy replacement. I'm hoping that we can find you a rollbar!

The other thing to bear in mind in the UK is that my Targa top has an internal 'strenghtening' bar inside the roof to help it retain it's shape. It's also able to give a bit of extra stability in a roll-over.

Obviously you've got a full convertible, right? Do you have to wear a crash helmet when driving?
