BBC's Ethical Man drives the Chevy Volt

BBC Newsnight on 15/4/09 had Justin Rowlatt travel by coach to Detroit to see and drive the Chevy Volt. The prototype he was first shown looked much like the Toyota Prius/ (new) Honda Insight. The car he drove looked a little more 2003 if you know what I mean. Presumably it had the same technology.
Justin said he'd driven other electric cars but this one felt like a 'real' car.
They showed the designer showing how you plug it in (and how you can use a remote to close the 'socket'). What's to stop some thug un-plugging your car while you're elesewhere?
Maybe he'll blog about it (but he hasn't yet)
