All we need now is a cost effective invertor for the car at home to power the house during the day, before going on recharge.

The British Gas website says that they will install the charging point in your home for "as little as" £995 !

Seems to be aimed at Nissan Leaf owners

Can't see from the website what the tariff is, or how it differs from economy 7

I suspect the point is the only thing that gets the "reduced" tariff during the night, where as E7 switches over the whole house, as for £995....... well their having a laugh  thats like a years worth of regular fuel, not exactly going to be an insentive :?

You know its a sales scam as soon as someone says "as little as" £995.
Here, an American builds his own. Goes maybe a little overboard with a fancy electric add-on and stuff..

Cost him under £600 in this form.

I am thralled by the idea if the ev is parked at home during the day, what if it supplied house power instead of the higher daytime rates? Scottish power were charging like 30% of daytime.. just a thought.
