Insurance
Can someone point me in the direction of an insurer for EV's classed as motorbikes? Trying to find some quotes on a trike, but getting no-where. Only way so far was to tell them I'd replace the handlebars with a wheel, then they would do it!!!
Footman James and Carole Nash both will insure electric vehilce, Footman James does it for the same premium as the original vehicle.
They also give discount to subscribed BVS members...
Good luck,
Steve

It's who you speak to and how you approach things.
Most people on the end of the phone at Insurance companies don't actually know the difference between a Triumph Dolomite and a Triumph Boneville. Basically if it doesn't come up on thier computer screens they take the "Computer says no" approach
It can be done and I'm sure it should be possible to do it very reasonably too. I'll let you know when we've got some companies onboard

Same experience with my mini-el, most insurers say "no" because they can't find it on their system.
Footman James were the biggest disappointment, they insured a Bond Bug for £70 but wont insure a mini-el...
My present insurance is via Peter Best, they've quoted £143 which is £20 up on last year
Singularly unimpressed....
