Motorcycle or Electric Vehical

Postby ev virgin » Fri May 08, 2009 10:43 am

Just had a discussion with a biker(petrol-head) mate about the classification of a converted motorcycle. My full driving licence allows me to drive electric vehicals but does this include electrically powered motorcycles? I think it does, he says I need to sit my motorcycle test. Can I ride a converted bike with 'L' plates on? Anybody got any ideas?

You will be able to ride the same electric vehicle as you could petrol. If your licence is for cars then you will indeed need to sit a test to ride a 250cc sized bike. A 125 on L plates may be possible, but depends when you took your car test. I'd suggest looking on the DVLA site to find out what you are covered for. you will need to sit a basic compulsory basic training if you passed after a certtain date, the test is a day long basic training course.
