You can easily see if the 12v is on its way out by pulling one of the traction pack fuses, easy ones are on the top rear pack in the engine bay and measuring the voltage on the battery with say the headlights on.

It should be able to maintain a good 12.5v with that sort of loading for five mins, or you will not notice any headlight output drop over that time, if the 12v is about to die once you remove the main pack fuse and load it I suspect it will fall over quite quickly and either voltage will drop off to 10v and the headlight output will dim considerabley.

In which case its new 12v Aux battery time.

Thanks Chris,

I will try out your suggestion 1st thing tomorrow morning, and suspect that i might be off to the battery place soon after. Maybe this is part wishful thinking because changing the thermistor probe sound a very challenging operation.........hope 2009 is good for you ......michael sheppard
