Elcat motor blower fan needed

Postby jonathan jewkes » Fri Mar 14, 2014 10:10 pm

Are there any Elcat owners who can help me?
Mine is showing a warning light that the traction motor is overheating. On investigation I find that the blower fan which cools the motor is not working - the brush assembly is burned out.
Unfortunately the fan has no markings whatsoever, so I don't know where I could get a replacement. Internet searches find many fans used in car ventilation systems, but none are a precise match.
The fan is a "Snail" shape. I have shown it to people in local scrapyards, but no-one recognises it.

Any info would be most welcome

Post some pictures of it, as I have no idea what the unit looks like.

See my first post. Has anyone seen a fan like this - where could I get another?

Here are pictures - I have slightly separated the two halves of the casing.
The air filter seems to have been added as an afterthought - it is just glued on to the casing. My garage man thinks the air filter is from a mini, but the fan is not.
