Berlingo Electrique fault diagnosis

Postby doopercoupe » Wed Sep 19, 2018 12:46 pm

Diagnostic tool throws up Function: Current Breaker FAULT

This doesn't always allow the Drive Current Chopper to work, when it does it throws up Function: Drive Current SPASMODIC FAULT

Where is the Current Breaker located?

All advice will be gratefully received.

Cheers

Brian

In the base of the control box in a plastic casing. You have to take out the DC to DC then the Charger then you can get the the control electronics where contactor sits above .

Cheers thank you for the info, but as a novice I'm not sure as to what I'm looking at.
We've taken the cover off, at the righthand side is the ECU alongside is inverter? next to that is charger? next to that is a white plastic box which has the choppers in with a black plastic covered large relay?

Do you think I will need to replace the Current Breaker?

All info will be gratefully received.

Absolutely no idea. If you are looking to repair it I had assumed you knew what you were doing. You will need to test the various parts including the contactor to work out whats failing. No point in taking stuff out if is not the part at fault. If the contactor isnt closing , is it a faulty contactor, poor contacts, or the elcectronics diriving the contactor. If the diagnostics are telling you the contactor isnt closing you have to find out why.
