CAN BUS

Do you own or use a EV. Then this is a good place to discuss things.

CAN BUS

Postby aminorjourney » Sat Mar 08, 2008 5:24 pm

Does anyone here have any experience with the CAN bus? I'm looking into building something which will work on the CAN bus but I know nothing about the data structure and protocol.

Thanks,

Nikki.

Hi Nikki,

I think Evan is your best bet.
He reverse engineered the Berlingo bus commands and did the EvLite controller.

Rob

You can download the CANbus protocols and information.

However, what hardware is it going to be transmited over?

You can have CANbus over RS485/422

You can have CANbus over Mains

You can have CANbus over Cat5

You can have CANbus over fibre

Etc. etc. etc..................
