Solder to single length of veroboard and use sil pins

My Maximite has arrived pretty quick comming from Aus. I'll get it wired up enough to see if runs in next few days.

Version 2.7 of MMBasic has been released. Main change is that the MM now has 2 "drives". Drive A: is 256kb flash on the pic and Drive B: is the SD card. The MM will now look for AUTORUN.BAS on drive A: then B:. So now it is possibe auto run programs without an SD card. 8)

I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to load 2.7, but here is a quick rundown of the different MM versions. Geoff Graham, creater of the MM published a "reference design" which was produced in small numbers as a kit by Altronics. Dontronics sells the SM1, built fully assembled mostly to Geoff's design, they added RTC circuit to their board but it is not populated and unsupported in the current firmware. Maybe someone will do the required coding for this. Geoff released a new design, the mini MM V2, this is the same but without keyboard, vga/video or SD card built in for those we don't need it. Dontronics also has a simialar version.

The pic32 is also availible on a number of different development/hobby boards. Geoff has decided to support the UBW32 board and provides firmware for that board.

Olimex is busy porting the MM firmware to their own board, the Duinomite. Not directly compatible with the MM as hardware pins have different functions.

A new version of Maximite software has been released, Version 3.1. Lots of new features including support for 1-wire devices. :D

I hope to get back to the MM master in the not to distant future.

I've been watching that seemed to split into different factions but I'll stick with the original MM.

Re: Maximite Master

I am going to use my Maximite as a master for the 6802 slaves I am working on, so I downloaded the latest version, dusted off the MM, updated the firmware and started to read up on the latest changes and then the bastard  goes and releases another update, V4.0! So what's new, well how about colour, stereo sound output (we can use this as 2 seperate pwm channels, one for charger control and the other for controller cutback?) and on board real time clock (useful for time stamping data logs). But there is some bad news, you only get colour with a new hardware layout, so while there is a version 4.0 for the original MM, to get colour you need a new colour MM. And one more catch with the colour is that it is only availible in VGA, not composite. But I think we can get around this with a cheap VGA to PAL adapter from ebay. I'll get hold of the hardware and see how it works with the small screens we are using.

Oh, I forgot to mention but the colour MM, in addition to the standard 20 i/o pins also has a Arduino shield compatible headers with an additional 20 i/o pins. 8)

Hardware creep  and never ending project.

I bought a MM but am not going to buy another when we haven't used the original one yet.

Let's make it work on the original one first. IMHO of course.
