Got my DVLA inspection this afternoon. I'll post later what is exactly said by the DLVA staff. Interestingly, and not noticed by me before, on the VC5 it says "The taxation class can only be changed on relicensing. Please apply at your nearest DVLA office"

I am taking with me:

- The car, on a trailer
- VC5 changed to electric with new 'engine' number
- MOT certificate
- Insurance certificate
- All receipts
- A shiny 'EV CONSERSION CERTIFICATE' issued by Grilli Automotive Engineering', stating Motor, Controller, Charger and Battery details (copied LPG format)
- A load of pictures of other modified EV's, especially Jim Fell's seicento, as back up
- A smile and a sunny disposition

Do I need anything else?

Well it worked - the inspector was very interested in the car overall, and even said it was nice meeting me :D

LOL I shouldn't really say this but I have to confess to doing something similar with the chassis number of the first car I built. 'twas a long time ago now though
