The BVS has been asked to support the "IMI Green Car Show" as part of Triple Focus 2009

We are lucky to have 2 places (manufacturer's only have 1 place each) as we being considered as a trade association and not a manufacturer.

[BEGIN UPDATE]
The proposal is to display
a) Peugeot 106 Electrique
b) Mitsubishi I-EV
[END UPDATE]

It does not need to be manned, however, if I am still between jobs, then I will attend the stand.

If anyone else wants to be involved, then please let me know.

Regards,
Rob

May well be able to get envolved Rob, bit too far for my Blingo sadly though.

I'll keep you informed closer to the time.

I am in a bit of a pickle now as it looks like we don't have a current production vehicle.

So has anyone got one that they can lend me. I can assure you that the site is site is very secure (there are going to be £90k Porches, etc there!).

We can do a swap for my Berlingo or maybe Sylvia's 106 while yours is being used, so it will be of minimal impact and in fact you can have a go in a different EV.

Looks like the organisers have managed to us out and have had confirmation that an I-EV from Mitsubishi will be available.

As part of a series of general seminars I have been asked if we would like to do a green seminar of 20/25 min to insurers, repairers and manufacturers on the benefits of EVs and green cars in general.

1) Topics For Presentation

I think the sort of things we can talk about are :-
o Problems with take-up of EVs
o High cost of insurance for EVs as a second car (insurers)
o Tips for manufacturers
....- Use standard controls and lights, e.g. auto box (not reversing switch like 106) and standard ignition lights (as not on Berlingo)
....- Aggressive regen should activate break lights
....- Provision of rapid recharge
....- Provision of charging timer control (economy-7)

I would welcome any construtcive comments or additions on the general content.

2) Presenter

I am more than happy to put the presentation together. But as someone not very professional at public speaking, I was wandering if there is anybody that would like to do the actual presentation. Obviously I would work with you in the first instance to agree the presentation material.

If you are interested in presenting please let me know by the 18 May.

Well done Rob!

I won't know until the last minute if I can come along to this sadly, but I would certainly like to support it - which day will you (or whoever) be doing the presentation? The Wed or Thurs?

Mary.

ps don't forget to give Brian details of this event before the 20th May for inclusion in the next Review.

Shame its during the week or I'd have a punt at this, do quite a bit of comparing/PA'ing so waffling in front of a bunch of people down a mic isnt a problem  , in fact it would be nice to waffle about something that I'm actually interested in 8)

But as its during the week its a total non starter as I'm at work
