Where to get a motor from?

Postby Night Train » Mon Aug 10, 2009 3:26 pm

I am looking to source a forklift motor as I really can't afford to invest in a WarP9 imported from the States.

Any suggestions of any good forklift breakers that are worth approaching? Has anyone here used that route?

I don't really want to buy a whole truck from Ebay, no matter how cheap, mainly due to the hassle of getting it home without a suitable transporter. I will do if I have to as I can recover costs from the unwanted components.

I'd say your best bet would be something like yellow pages, looks for a Fork lift service agent in your area, pop along and have a chat to someone and see if they can help 8)

You could try http://www.forktrucksupermarket.com/ in Trafford park. They are also Megavan dealers, so will know about electric cars. I haven't been there myself, though.
