good news ...the dumb charging cable works !! The i miev is now charged up fine ,and runs A1 !!

Funny how Mitsubishi with the VIN and the reg , said i needed a type 2 cable with the price tag of £420 plus vat !

Bought a cable from EV Connectors for £157 all in !

Looking into a control box that will allow type 2 charging on the car , and asking out local car electrician to wire it in for me .

Thanks to Nikki for giving me the advise

I have the OVMS unit installed in my 2011 iOn which shows 10A charging off the standard lead with the 'brick' in it and 13A charging when using the 16A T2 to T1 cable plugged into my Polar EVSE. Both taper down to 2A or so before the charge terminates.

Gad! If anyone else has this issue, PM me and I'll supply a 'dumb' 3m cable for £90, 'all in'.
