Re: LTC6802 based 12 cell slave.
Glad to help. Hopefully "Methods" will help more if he can. Perhaps it's good you didn't get the board spun - it might well be worth looking into changing to LTC6802-2 before you go too far - we had a lot of messy problems with the v1 chips when in real life applications.. Have a good holi...

Re: LTC6802 based 12 cell slave.
Good choice. We've built a few BMS's around these chips before with great success.
We have a stock of them left over if you still need to purchase any? Sometimes there is a very long lead time (hence why we overbought)..

Re: My new project
Hi, Weve had a lot of problems with Kelly on other brushless motors, but they do sell the Mars motor themselves so I imagine it is the only motor the controller is actually tested on at the factory. It's probably your cheapest and easist option - though don't expect it too be trouble free! The Sevco...

Re: Controllers
We supply them at Jozztek, but would have to order in from the states in any case. Until we start getting asked often for them it is just too expensive an item to keep in stock..
We do at least have one fitted to a car here if you want to come see how they run.

Re: Direct drive or transmission?
THe Kostov motors come with a "series or parallel" option for the field coils which has a similar effect. I've noticed that with this size of motor, my Mazda really doesn't need the gearbox. In fourth gear it will lose traction on a dry road if you put your foot more than 70% down. The mai...

Re: High power battery chargers (10KW+)
These guys are making a 10KW programmable charger. They sell either PCB and parts list, full kits ready to assemble, or finished chargers.

Re: 300V pack for gas turbine hybrid
Very interesting project.. Ive got some LiPo cells here capable of very high power (20C continuous), and with good energy density. I also have a small and cheap high/low voltage protection system with extremely low power draw. All in stock in the UK.. One thing you didn't mention was how important w...

Re: Museum of the Electric Vehicle?
Swindon Science museum had a good array of electric vehicles, many still operational. I don't know if they are open everyday, but they do have open days regularly..

Re: Voltage logging
That will do what you need, but take care not to leave it plugged in whilst not in use, it will run cells flat (draws of the first 2-4 cells iirc) with time..

Hmm, FJ did give me a "BVS" discount 3 years back on a motorcycle.
