Sorry, you're right, I assumed they had updated the product page.

I went to http://www.linear.com/ad/6802.jsp?gclid ... FQodAWWTSg and used the "request more info" page. A few days later I was contacted by a local LT representative.

Well, the first 2 questions are really one ;-) liek I said, I'll be using a PIC microcontroller (like Peter uses too, except I'll probably go for the assembler programmable one). Maybe the PIC18F6550, which I've used before. Just so it has SPI and USB, thats all it really needs. The chips with that ...

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know I finally got a demo board of the LTC6802 BMS chip (mentioned somewhat further up). I had to go through the whole NDA procedure so I couldnt talk about it, but just a few days ago, the datasheet was released: http://www.linear.com/pc/downloadDocument.do?nav...

Hi Greg, yes, you're looking at the same ones. And yes it says max 2C but thats really continuous, the 3C peak also works out, I have the charge/discharge diagrams here for 1C, 2C...5C and although high discharge rate reduces capacity a little, not nearly as much as with SLA batteries. The car I'm u...

Um... no answer? It it some kind of big secret what happened with the bulk purchase? I'm looking into ordering some 10Ah and 100Ah cells from Huanyu, they have very interesting prices (about 1.10 EUR/Ah plus duty, tax, shipping). Of course probably the quality is not the best around, but I th...

thanks for the link but that is a product that is not available yet. When it becomes available, it will be great, but unfortunately it's not yet.

Peter, Since they are only 10Ah, and I'm really shopping for the cheapest, it will only cost 2000-3000 EUR. I dont expect to go to the moon with it, but 20-30km would be ok. If it were a 10.000 EUR pack, I wouldnt blink an eye. But having the BMS cost 25 to 33% of the total cost... *shudder* Ethan

Gee, I just realized that even if I can get the production price per slave down to 5 EUR each, 200 slaves will still cost me over 1000 EUR

I think maybe I should reconsider using a purely passive approach...
