Re: Bitten the bullet-lets see if the Solar PV stuff is any

Just google Solarmiser. Its a cost effective no frills 2 output power diverter.

Seems to do what it says on the tin and reduces the amount you give to the grid (at paltry rates) and allows you to get free hot water or storage heating. Suitable for all resistive loads.

Re: Bitten the bullet-lets see if the Solar PV stuff is any

Well I have now had my 3Kwp system installed for a month and am making between 10 - 20KwH per day (avg 12kWh/day this month) Have got a power diverter too, so once I have satisfied the normal house load, the surplus power heats a double size hot tank and then once that is satisfied it goes into a th...

Bitten the bullet-lets see if the Solar PV stuff is any good

After a few years of putting off fitting some solar PV, finally decided to get a small (3.15 Kwp) system fitted. I originally looked a few years ago when payments of 40p/Kwh were being made - but the costs were very high and the panels were not pretty. I have now been able to get a system installed ...

Re: 41.3p per kwh sell back

Did the same to me Chris - then I waited and waited and waited and ........ eventually I called them and they said they had the figures and would post them. It was almost as if they were waiting for me to call, to gauge my interest. Anyhow it was 12k for 2200 watt system. We decided it was a little ...

Re: Solar power (PV)

None here in North Kent either Chris. Let me know if you find one that will do the inspection and the sealing of the meter for generated output. Some Company called "Affordable Solar" made an appointment to see me last Fri at 3pm. They phoned to say could I make it 11AM, I said yes, they n...

Re: 41.3p per kwh sell back

I asked the same question of the guy who wanted to sell me some. He said, oh its all sealed to stop you hacking into it !. Well its going to be really tricky for them to seal all the input connections to the invertor. I reckon you could just tap into one of the DC inputs and apply your own DC input,...

Re: Solar power (PV)

I guess its about doing the homework and checking with official sources that the FIT is as the salesman says. Then buy from large reputable company. What price have you seen per installed Kwp. Seems its about £5000 !. Another question is the "ugliness" of the panels. Even if the Finaces an...

Re: Solar power (PV)

Yup - its a minefield alright. So what are the claims. Claim 1) For every KwH of installed Solar PV you will get paid a "generation" payment of 41.3p for a guaranteed 25 year period if you install between now and April next year. After then it goes down to 36p for 24 yrs etc... Claim 2) Yo...
